In this modern era of globalization, the United States of America certainly has seen many great and influential Presidents which many people look up to even to this date. Nevertheless, the two most commonly known Presidents in our time is Barack Obama and the current president Donald Trump. In the first, Barack Obama is an American politician who served as the 44th president of the United States as a member of the Democratic Party. His reign as the country’s leader lasted for 8 long years after he had won back to back elections since becoming the successor of George W. Bush. Obama was then succeeded by the current United States president Donald Trump whom at first was a successful businessman and a television personality before becoming a politician for the Republican party. However, the question arises to the citizens as to who was the better president or the ruler of the country despite the fact that both of them share many important values to be the countries leader. Therefore, there are many differences between Obama and Trump particularly in terms of their lifestyle, personality and methods of ruling the government.

Firstly, Barack Obama and Donald Trump have many differences when it comes to their lifestyle. Barack Obama originally was from a middle-class family who had to work his way up to the White House by gaining the majorities vote where else Donald Trump was born with fortune under a rich family and simply inherited the presidency status. This comes to show that Obama is a man that abides by the law which resulted in him winning the elections due to his diligence and support where else Donald Trump used many fake promises and methods to gain his followers and eventually got him the seat as the president. Furthermore, Barack Obama inherited and saved an economy under free fall that was losing plenty of jobs where else Donald Trump simply inherited Obama’s work without any contribution. For example, the Healthcare Reform Bill created by Obama proved to be the biggest economic turnaround in US history as he raised taxes on the wealthy to help increase funds to support those with low incomes (Nelson,2020). On the other hand, Donald Trump made plenty of fake promises when it comes to maintaining the country’s economy. Instead, he slashed taxes on the rich and corporations causing an economic deficit due to heavy tax imposition. This proofs that Obama’s efforts helped maintain a healthy economy in the United States where else Donald Trump’s efforts are only leading to the country to further economic problems. Therefore, it is certainly safe to say that both Barack Obama and Donald Trump do have a vast difference in terms of their lifestyle.

There are big contrasts between the personalities of Barrack Obama and Donald Trump in the way they rule the country. Obama reaches out with a firm attitude that involves people around him while Trump has a dauntless authoritative behaviour. Obama reaches out with a firm attitude that involves people around him and has strong perseverance to achieve his goals. This engages the audience and makes them feel involved and part of the growth of the country. Trump is known for being very bold and authoritative in his criticism in public of what he believes in. As found in this article online, Trump in his earlier election in the year 2016 said, "no one will be tougher on the Islamic State than himself if elected. According to Trump, Islamic terrorism is eating up large portions of the Middle East and that is something we would aim to completely destroy." (Jain, 2016) Obama has strong perseverance to achieve his goals while Trump focuses on negotiating and making deals to achieve his goals in a faster way. This statement was found in this website online and it says, "Obama always has a firm belief that if something is right and if you think you are on the right track then you can influence others too and get your message across. This will take some time but eventually you’ll succeed." (Husain, 2017) This shows how Obama perseveres through hardship to be able to get his message across and to achieve greater heights. Trump is known to understand complex deals with his knowledge of a wide variety of industries and businesses. This helps him to be able to talk his way in a negotiation to ensure that risks are calculated and to pull off goals that he aims for. This paragraph shows the differences on methods of ruling of Barack Obama and Donald Trump. Firstly, the way they rule it with their regulations. Barack Obama signed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act in 2010 because he decided to manage non-bank financial firms such as hedge funds and structured derivatives such as credit default swaps. He made it less possible for another financial crash and the Consumer Financial Security Bureau terminated payday loans. However, Donald Trump would like to repeal Dodd-Frank completely. Trump claims that it keeps banks from lending further to small businesses. As a result, congress passed a rollback of the Dodd-Frank rules for these banks on May 22, 2018. (Amadeo, 2020) The "small banks" regulations were relaxed by the Economic Development, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act. These are banks with assets of $100 billion to $250 billion. American Express and Ally Financial are among them. (Amadeo, 2020) The rollback means these banks cannot be designated by the Fed as too big to fail. To safeguard against a cash crunch, they no longer have to keep as much in reserves. Also, they may not be subject to "stress checks" by the Fed. Therefore, only the 12 largest U.S. banks have to comply with this Dodd-Frank section. Moreover, these smaller banks do not have to comply with the Volcker Rule anymore. (Amadeo, 2020) Moving on, the difference with the method of ruling between Obama and Trump was the economy. Obama concentrated on coping with the global financial crisis and the resulting of Great Recession that had begun before his inauguration, which was widely perceived to be the worst economic decline since the Great Depression, upon taking office. But the economic policies of Trump have focused on cutting taxes, deregulation, and protectionism of trade. One of his first decisions was to permanently postpone the Obama administration's reduction in fee rates for federally insured mortgages that saved people with lower credit scores on a standard loan. Consequently, Barack Obama and Donald Trump has a huge difference on the method of ruling that both of them rule the country in the way they think it was best.

Obama worked twice as hard as he was raised from a middle-class family while Trump did not have much difficulty as he has a rich background. Obama has a more rounded personality while Trump leads the country in his business style. Obama runs the country trying to bring in as much benefits as he can while Trumps focuses on cutting out business that he claims not worthy and not bringing in more resources. As stated in the comparison mentioned above, we personally feel that Barrack Obama was a better US president in contrast to Donald Trump.
